JAMMU, Oct 2: The auspicious Navratri is starting from tomorrow and all the temples here are being decorated for the fest.
Mammoth rush of devotees is expected at all the prominent temples including the Fort Shrine of Bawe Wali Mata temple, Kol Kandoli temple in Nagrota and many more temples in J&K.
The Bahu Fort Mandir Management Committee has informed that during Navratri, the gates of the shrine will remain opened from 4 am to 1 pm and after this the shrine shall remain closed for one hour from 1 pm to 2 pm for the ceremony of Bhog and for cleansing purposes.
A handout of the shrine authorities stated that the temple will again reopen at 2 pm and will remain opened till 9 pm in the evening.
Pujari Vivek Mangotra of the temple informed that this schedule shall be observed daily during all the days of Navratri and the devotees should plan their visits accordingly.
Pandit Jai Prakash Sharma, Head Priest at historic Kol Kandoli temple in Nagrota informed that during Navratri days the temple will open for the devotees at 4 am and will remain opened till 11 pm in the evening.
He also informed that the ten day long Mela at Kol Kandoli temple will start from tomorrow.
Many Bollywood actors and popular artists mostly visit Kol Kandoli in Nagrota. The shrine is popular as first Darshan to the pilgrimage of Mata Vaishno Devi Ji.
Police has placed elaborate security arrangements in place at the temples and popular shrines to prevent any untoward incident on these auspicious days.
