BBIA for extension of flyover from SIDCO Chowk upto Balol bridge

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Dec 12: Bari Brahmana Industries Association (BBIA), has demanded extension of  Bari Brahamana National Highway flyover from SIDCO Chowk to  Balol bridge for solving the problem of traffic jams at this busy crossing.
In a  meeting of the members of BBIA held here today under the presidentship of Lalit Mahajan, its  president, the members discussed  the issue in respect of extension of flyover of NH1A SIDCO Chowk,  Bari Brahmana up to Balol bridge  (Purmandal Morh).
The issue regarding the massive traffic jam at SIDCO Chowk Bari Brahmana on NH1A resulting great inconvenience to the Unit holders  and general public was discussed in detail  and accordingly a detailed representation was submitted to  Nitin Gadkari,  Union Minister, Road Transport  and Highways  with a request to extend the flyover of NH1A SIDCO Chowk Bari Brahmana up to Balol Bridge.
It is pertinent to mentioned here that SIDCO Industrial Complex, Bari Brahmana is one of the largest  and biggest Industrial complex of the State having 500-600 large, medium, small scale units working with the employment of around 35000 workers. With the movement of around 500-600 trucks per day,  it is extremely difficult for the smooth flow of the traffic. Moreover there is also huge rush in the chowk due to movement of Army vehicles in the area in respect  of  Transit Camps & CSD Depot adjoining to the Industrial Complex. The flyover constructed by NH1A towards Jammu is connecting the SIDCO Chowk at tail end resulting disturbance in the smooth flow of traffic on regular basis.
The BBIA  appealed to the Minister for Industries Chander Parkash to take up the matter with the Union Minister, Road Transport & Highways for the extension of this flyover. It was also urged upon to the R&B department to provide an alternate road link through Balol Khad to Purmandal Road to divert the traffic in the peak hours for the smooth flow of traffic.
