BBIA for development of industrial land on war footing

JAMMU, Dec 25: Bari Brahmana Industries Association has stressed the need to take effective steps for the development of industrial land on war footing basis enabling the prospective investors to start the Industrial activities as early as possible.
Lalit Mahajan, President BBIA & Co-Chairman Federation of Industries Jammu & Office Bearers of BBIA, on behalf of Industrial fraternity conveyed gratitude to Lt Governor Manoj Sinha, Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo and Commissioner /Secretary Vikramjit Singh for taking effective steps for the setting up of Industrial Units for the prospective Investors to avail the benefits of Central package of Incentive under the NCSS-21 Scheme of Govt of India against which investment proposals amounting to approximately 70000 crores have been received by the Industries Department.
“It is a step towards rapid Industrialization in Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir and we are hopeful that ample direct and indirect employment opportunities for the local unemployment youths may take place in near future,” they added.
However, they mentioned that investment proposals amounting to thousands of crores are pending with the Industries Department due to non-availability of developed Industrial Estates with the requisite Infrastructure for Industrial use. “The registration of Prospective Investors on the portal of Industries Department is not possible due to pending Lease Deed Documents for the allotment of land in the Notified Industrial Areas under development and it is the need of the hour to take effective steps for the Development of Industrial Land on war footing basis enabling the Prospective Investors to start the Industrial activities as early as possible,” explained Lalit Mahajan.
“We also request Lt Governor Manoj Sinha, Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo and Commissioner /Secretary Vikramjit Singh to take up the matter with Ministry of Commerce and Industry for the extension of date from 30th September 2024 for the submission of application for registration and cut of date for the approval of application from 31-3-2025 for at least two years enabling the prospective investors to apply for the registration under the NCSS 2021 Scheme after the allotment of land in the Notified Industrial Areas which are under development,” said BBIA.
