JAMMU, May 18:  Expressing serious concern over the worst power scenario prevailing in the SIDCO Industrial Complex, Bari Brahmana Industries Association has appealed Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and MoS Power Viqar Rasool to intervene into the matter and provide relief to the Industrial sector.
An emergent meeting of the Association was held today under the chairmanship of BBIA president Annil Suri for discussing the alleged casual attitude of PDD towards Industrial sector in respect of release of new connections, additional Power Load and maintenance of Grid Station in SIDCO Industrial Complex, Bari Brahmana.
The meet accused the System and Operation Wing of PDD of adopting delaying tactics in granting sanction of Power Load despite the fact that adequate Load was available at the Bari Brahmana station. The industrialists are left with no option other than to run their units on DG sets which increase the production cost, explained the meet.
The Association members  also alleged harassment by the Inspection wing of PDD, which was not issuing Inspection Certifications timely for the reasons best known to them inspite of fulfilling all required formalities  by the unit holders.
The meet particularly highlighted the delay in replacement of damaged Panels of the Grid Station at Bari Brahmana notwithstanding Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s orders for providing sufficient funds for the same.
Stating that power supply to Birpur Industrial Complex and Bari Brahmana National Highway was also in worst condition, the Association appealed Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and MoS Power to personally look into the matter and save industries in Jammu and Kashmir.
