BBIA seeks one time relaxation for renewal of micro, small units

JAMMU, Nov 1: Co-Chairman Federation of Industries Jammu and president, Bari Brahmana Industries Association (BBIA), Lalit Mahajan drawn the attention of Lt Governor of J&K UT, Manoj Sinha, and Chief Secretary, Arun Kumar Mehta and Principal Secretary I&C Department Ranjan Prakash Thakur towards the request of number of Micro & Small Scale Units pending with the Industries Department for the renewal of Time Barred Provisional Registration EM-Part-I.
Mahajan, while conveying thanks to Manoj Sinha for the grant of Rs 28400 crores Industrial Package-2021 for the new Units, drew the attention of Lt Governor towards the hardship being faced by the Micro & Small Scales Units, owned by sons of soil of J&K due to time barred pending cases of EM Part-I with the Industries Department since long as the matter has been referred to Apex Committee for the approval.
It is pertinent to mention here that due to prevailing conditions in J&K since long and also COVID-19 Pandemic since March 2020, the prospective unit holders, are not able to take the effective steps for the start of production as per the guidelines of Industrial Policy in spite of the facts that they had already spent huge amount for the construction of factory shed and purchase of machinery by taking loan from banks but due to pending approval of the Apex Committee the renewal of EM Part -I Unit holders not able to start the production.
BBIA requested the Lt Governor and Chief Secretary J&K UT for the grant of one time relaxation for the renewal of all the pending Time Barred Case EM Part-I Registration of Micro & Small Scale units up to June 30, 2022 enabling the Unit holders to start the production to avail the benefits under the Industrial Package-2021.
