BBIA’s plea attracts Rahul Gandhi’s attention

NEW DELHI, Dec 6: Former Union Minister and PCC president Prof Saif-ud-Din Soz has claimed that memorandum submitted by Bari Brahmana Industries Association (Jammu) to the AICC vice president Rahul Gandhi during his visit on November 7 has attracted the attention of Mr Gandhi as he has personally taken up the issue with the Finance Minister.
In a press statement issued here Prof Soz said that on the initiative of Rahul Gandhi a high level meeting was held today in Delhi with Union Finance Minister P Chidambram to discuss the issues of incentives/ relief to the Industry in J&K.
Ahmed Patel (MP), Advisor to AICC president Sonia Gandhi, Ambika Soni AICC general secretary incharge J&K affairs of the party and PCC chief Prof Soz also attended the meeting. It was explained to the Finance Minister that the Notification No. 01/2010-CE dated Feb 6, 2010 be implemented in such a manner that the existing industrial units who have undertaken substantial expansion programme under the notification No. 56/2002 and 57 of 2002 are benefitted. The FM was requested to ask the authorities to make this clear to Commissioner Central Excise Jammu.
The Union Minister responded favourably to the plea made and asked the officers concerned to discuss the matter with him on priority and explain the position for reddressal of the grievances and promotion of Industry in J&K.
