POONCH, June 21: Bajrang Dal (BD) held a meeting here today under the leadership of Nishu Gupta to discuss the arrangements of Buda Amarnath yatra starting from August 1 and culminating on August 12, 2013.
The meeting said that first Jatha of pilgrims will leave Poonch on August 1. The meeting was attended by BD activists from the State and other parts of the country. It said the yatris will be received by president Sanatan Dharam Sabha Poonch, Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (GPC) Poonch and Deputy Commissioner and SSP Poonch.
The yatris will stay at Geeta Bhawan, ITI building, HSS Boys etc.
The meeting made an appeal to authorities for smooth conduct of yatra from Poonch to Buda Amarnath and making of proper arrangements of electricity, water etc.
Meanwhile, there is a resentment among the members of Buda Amarnath Mandir Committee for failure of the authorities in handing over the community hall constructed for yatris at Mandi to the Mandir Management Committee.
The Yatris Niwas constructed five years back has not been handed over to Mandir Committee till date. The Mandir Committee said that though one lakh yatris perform darshan during the annual yatra of Buda Amarnath from different parts of the country there is no community hall for their stay at Mandi.
This was stated by the general secretary of the Managing Committee of Buda Amarnath temple Bakshi Gulshan Kumar. However the DC Poonch, Sajjad Ahmed Khan has said that he will order a probe that why the building was not handed over to Mandir Committee till date.
