JAMMU, Nov 26: BDC Chairman RS Pura Tarsem Lal Sharma and Sarpanch of Gandali Panchayat of Block RS Pura, Gurdeep Singh Saini today started blacktopping of link road leading to village Chak Nanka falling under Gandali Panchayat.
Hundreds of Panchayat residents including Sarpanch Surjit Chowdhary, Naib Sarpanch Pyare Lal, Panch Pawan Singh, Panch Anju Bala, senior BJP leaders Anand Kalia and Nambardar Chud Singh were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Gurdeep Singh Saini said that this was an old demand of the residents of village Chak Nanka for blacktopping of the Road, due to which this work has been started today. The blacktopping of 800 meters of road will be completed with an estimated amount of Rs 15 lakh rupees, he added.
Saini said that after becoming the Sarpanch of the Panchayat, he has continuously paid attention to the development of the Panchayat and today every village of the Panchayat has the facility of a Pucca road.
On the occasion, the BDC Chairman said that the Sarpanch of the Panchayat was continuously demanding that the link road leading to the village should be constructed. He said that all the promises made during the BDC elections have been fulfilled and each and every link road has been constructed. He assured the villagers that the development works would be continued in the same way in the coming days as well.
The BDC Chairman said that the only aim of the BJP Government at the Centre is to provide better basic facilities to the people living in rural areas and they are working towards that goal.
