JAMMU, Sept 16: Prominent political stalwarts from Gulabgarh constituency of Reasi and adjoining areas along with their supporters joined Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in presence of senior party leaders at party headquarter, Trikuta Nagar, here, today.
J&K BJP general secretary (Org.) Ashok Koul, MP (Rajya Sabha) Ghulam Ali Khatana, general secretary, Vibodh Gupta, district president, Sheel Magotra, senior leader Kuldeep Dubey, Pardeep Singh and other party leaders welcomed the new entrants into the party fold.
BDCs Shaid Parveen (Mahore), Shaida Banoo (Gulabgarh), Sarpanches Ch. Mohd. Akram (Mahore HQ), Ab. Hamid (Shajroo), Mohd. Ashraf (Sildhar), Mohd. Ayoub (Jamslan-A), Amina Banoo (Badder B), Ch. Zakir Hussain (Mahore C), Ch. Mohd. Aslam (Mahore Jamlan), Hanifa Akhter (Badder), Qamer Din (Dewal A), Shamin Banoo (Dewal B), Zarifa Begum (Shivrass), Sushma Devi, Naib Sarpanches Mohd. Yousuf (Mahore B), Zakir Hussain (Upper Tuli A), Mohd. Qasim (Jamslan A), Mohd. Latief (Sildar), Hardev Singh (Sarh Lower), Sukhdev Singh (Sarsot) and others along with their supporters joined BJP on the occasion.
Ashok Koul, while welcoming the new entrants said that brilliant public welfare policies and good governance provided by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has won the hearts of people from all walks of life. He said that today the party has been getting the support of masses as well as prominent social and political leaders, which speaks of the high acceptability of development policy of BJP. He said that the party is of high hope that the entry of these mass leaders will further pace up the development in the area.
Ghulam Ali Khatana, on the occasion, took a dig at the National Conference, Congress and the PDP, saying these parties did nothing to empower the Gujjar Bakkarwal community at grassroot level. He said that disenchanted with the wrong policies of these parties, and witnessing the works of BJP, prominent members of these communities are joining the BJP in large numbers.
Vibodh Gupta welcoming the new entrants said that Modi Government delivered justice to the Gujjjars-Bakarwals after abrogating the controversial Articles on 5 August 2019. He said that under the Modi Government STs got political reservations in J&K as nine seats are reserved for them, Inter District recruitment rule was abolished and this has only happened because of ‘Sabka Sath, Sabka vikas” approach by BJP.
Speaking on the occasion, new entrants said that they fully influenced about the pragmatic policies and nationalism of BJP. They promised to strengthen the party base at the ground level while working for the public issues.
