Be prepared for election: Venkaiah Naidu to party workers

CHENNAI, Sept 22: Senior BJP leader and former union minister Venkaiah Naidu today exhorted party workers, specially women activists, to be prepared for election and make efforts to ‘bring back Vajpayee rule’ in the country. Addressing women cadres at the Mahila Morcha Executive meeting here, he said elections may be held any time and party was prepared for it. He said, ‘We want Mahila Morcha to take to every household in the country the issues of soaring price rise, cap on subsidised supply of cylinders, FDI in multi brand retail, besides other anti-people policies adopted by the UPA Government at the Centre.’ He called upon Mahila Morcha members to meet housewives and explain to them about the cascading effect of the decisions taken by the UPA Government, especially Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in retail sector and diesel price hike. ‘LPG cylinder at Rs 746 was never heard of. Congress says six cylinders are sufficient which is totally false,’ he alleged. He alleged that the UPA Government came to power with the slogan of ‘Congress Ka Haath, Aam Adami Ke Saath’ but it had been proved to be ‘Congress Ka Haath Viswasghat’. (Congress had promised the people that Hand will protect the people, but it had only betrayed them.) He said United Progressive Alliance (UPA) had become Divided Progressive Alliance. He asked party workers to work towards bringing back BJP rule in the country. (UNI)
