Srinagar, Nov 16:  Panic gripped Moutarbug Chak village of South Kashmir’s Shopian district after a wild bear family took refuge on a top of tree today.
Locals told Excelsior that the female bear and his two cubs were spotted in an orchard and after that they ran away and took refuge on top of a tree.
The Wild Life Department officials tried to catch them by firing tranquilizers but their attempts failed. The locals also pelted stones and hurled rocks towards the bear family.  The bear and his cubs were on the tree top when reports last came in while the villagers were also there attempting to bring them down.
