Bear spotted in Handwara village, triggers panic

Srinagar, Jan 17: Panic gripped the villagers of Haril area in Handwara after a bear takes shelter in a local school today after being chased by the locals.
Reports said that the bear was first spotted in a residential area and was subsequently chased by the locals. During that, the reports said, the Baer took shelter inside a Government School in the village.
The locals alleged that despite informing the concerned department well in time, the team of the Wildlife Department is yet to reach the village.
“The concerned department has not activated its men and are yet to visit the area; the villagers are in panic and we are in a dire need of help,” locals said.
