The Beating Retreat ceremony at Attari-Wagah border in Punjab was cancelled on Friday, ahead of the return of Indian Air Force Wing Commander Abhinandan. Amritsar Deputy Commissioner Shivdular Singh Dhillon said, “IAF pilot Abhinandan is more important than the retreat ceremony.” Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi earlier informed that the pilot will be released via the border.
