JAMMU, Feb 20: Minister for Housing, Horticulture and Culture Raman Bhalla today said that the Government has prepared a comprehensive plan for beautification of the newly upgraded Kunjwani- Sidhra 6- lane road stretch to add to the attraction of Jammu city.
He said the plan which is under active consideration of the Government envisages plantation of ornamental plants, landscaping and installation of street lights along the stretch.
Bhalla was interacting with the locals after launching various development works in Dashmesh Nagar locality of Gangyal area, here this morning.
He also said that a detailed project of Rs. 5 crore has been prepared by PDD for installation of lights on road dividers of Kunjwani-Satwari road. He said that installation of High Mast Lights was under progress on war-footing.
The Minister said that the Government has already prepared locality wise comprehensive plans to meet the development requirements of the people across the State, adding that people’s cooperation was imperative to meet the set targets.
Later, the Minister also visited Digiana Ashram and inaugurated various development projects which included upgradation of link road, modernization of canal.
Mr. Bhalla informed that to augment drinking water facilities in water stressed areas of Dashmesh Nagar and Digiana Ashram, a comprehensive plan costing Rs 2.94 crore has been prepared under PHE and ERA sectors.
Regarding upgradation of healthcare facilities in Rajiv Gandhi Hospital in Gangyal, Mr. Bhalla said that Government has prepared a plan of Rs 52 crore for construction of 100-bed hospital block in the existing premises.
