It will be problematic for us,” protesting B.Ed students said.
They said their session was commenced in June last year and examination were supposed to be conducted in month of April, as per routine. “But we fail to understand why the schedule has been changed this year. It is sheer injustice with us,” they said.
The students however have been agitating in front of the Directorate of Distance Education from last few days, but have not received any response from the authorities. “They (University authorities) paid deaf ears to our genuine demand. We appealed them to postpone the dates by 20 days only,” students said.
According to students, the authorities had assured them that their examinations would be conducted in month of April, however have backtracked at the 11th hour. “Earlier we made our representations before the concerned authorities and they assured us that exam would be conducted in April.”
The students alleged that authorities had clubbed their exams with the students pursuing B.Ed courses in Government College of Education, Srinagar. “But we fail to understand how they can club our examinations. They are trying to motivate us while citing budget problems,” students said.
They said they have paid an amount of Rs. 30,000 for the course however authorities are playing with their careers. “Our session started in Month of June and in college of education it was started in March, so they can’t club the two,” students said.
