‘Take BJP’s developmental agenda to people’

JAMMU, Dec 18: Exhorting the party leaders and activists to take the party’s developmental agenda to every nook and corner of the Jammu and Kashmir UT and apprise the people about the performance of over eight years of Narendra Modi Government, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), co- incharge J&K, Ashish Sood today said besides, the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35 A, Modi Government has many remarkable achievements to its credit on developmental front so far as Jammu and Kashmir is concerned.
Addressing the party’s district Jammu Working Committee meeting here today, Sood said the public policies of Modi Government which brought drastic change in the lives of people of J&K be highlighted all over the UT. The remarkable achievements in the field of education, health, housing and welfare be highlighted before the masses in the interactive programmes, he added.
“The abrogation of Articles 370 and 35 A is not only our achievement in J&K, establishing of two AIIMS, IIT, IIM, Medical Colleges, flyovers, highways, power projects, biotech parks and many other welfare schemes launched for general public and other neglected sections of the society including ST status to Paharis, political reservations to Gujjars etc are our other remarkable achievements,’’ he added.
He, while making a strong attack on opposition parties without naming any one, said they are making malicious and mischievous propaganda against the BJP but the party activists should strongly counter them and unmask their misdeeds.
While referring to lease policy of the Government, Sood said that opposition parties will definitely criticise it as their monopoly has ended. They had leased out properties to their own people and now under the new transparent policy the youth will get benefit and this has worried the opposition most so they are criticising it, he added.
He said the new lease policy will be beneficial for the youth and now they (opposition) have ganged up giving it a twist of outsiders as this Government has made it a transparent policy to benefit and empower the youngsters and deserving people.
Taking potshot at Congress leaders for describing Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra a historic event, he said why it did not enter Gujarat where elections were held recently. He said the Congress leaders are saying this all for repackaging and Showcasing Rahul Gandhi as a main contender against Narendra Modi in 2014 elections.
He said “The nation has not taken Rahul Gandhi seriously and he was being considered a part time politician now they are trying to showcase him as main contender against PM in 2024 elections’’.
Sood said “During India –China stand off when our forces beat Chinese Army, Rahul Gandhi was defaming our Army and Prime Minister’’.
“How can be a leader like him acceptable to people who has such a thinking about the nation and its soldiers,” he asked’.
Ashish Sood, who inaugurated the meeting focused on the role of district office bearers. He said that as the meeting is the first of its type for the newly constituted district team, there will be many new learning things for all the party activists who are given crucial responsibility. He said that this responsibility must be taken as a serious opportunity by the district office bearers to serve the people and establish the distinguished role of BJP as the most selfless party. He also focused on the importance of strengthened booth structure in the organization.
The meeting was held under the leadership of its president Parmod Kapahi.
The meeting was also addressed by MP(Lok Sabha) Jugal Kishore Sharma, former BJP President & former Minister Sat Sharma, J&K BJP Vice-President Yudhvir Sethi, former Minister Priya Sethi, Secretary Veenu Khanna, Prabhari District Jammu Rajeev Charak, District President Parmod Kapahi, Vibhaag Organizing Secretary Inderjeet Khajuria and other senior leaders.
Meeting was attended by the BJP UT Office Bearers, District team, JMC Councillors, Morcha Presidents, Mandal Presidents and other senior leaders hailing from Jammu District.
Jugal Kishore Sharma congratulated all the newly inducted team members of District Jammu and said that the BJP holds the distinction of being a truly democratic party. BJP gives opportunities to ground-level activists based on their level of dedication.
Sat Sharma spoke on the connecting role of the party leaders to join the party and the common masses. He said that the District Jammu has now more active role to play after the reorganization of the District along with the due responsibilities.
Yudhvir Sethi spoke on the true integration of all the cultures of India under the vision of Ek Bharat Shresht Bharat by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the achievements of Modi-2.0.
Priya Sethi focused on the ground work to be done by the BJP activists. She said that their works should reflect the ideology and working style of party.
Rajeev Charak spoke on the integrity of BJP activists and the organizational duties after being inducted into the District team.
In his presidential address, Pramod Kapahi complimented the party seniors for putting faith in him and whole new team of district Jammu. He said that they will work sincerely for the extension of party activities into every nook and corner of the district while carrying on with the development and other organizational activities at the ground level.
Veenu Khanna spoke on the Mann Ki Baat, the popular AIR programme by Narendra Modi.
