Beti Bachao Beti Padao

Sir,
Traditionally, perpahs due to social and economical causes, a girl child used to be considered a burden on the family. As the time passes, betis are found more sympathetic and affectionate towards parents as compared to sons. The role of women in the society is profound and effective in moving the wheel of this world. But evils like sex determination, dowry deaths, domestic violence, sexual harassment and unending subordination from male members, in all spheres of life, have virtually made them helpless.
Education of girl-child is often considered a second option, and thus, womanhood remains in a most disadvantageous condition. Since women constitute about 50 percent of the population, any sort of discrimination towards them is legally unjustified and morally unsound. The slogan given by our PM Narendra Modi has thick relevance, particularly, when the sex ratio of girl child is declining day by day. Empowerment of women, is of paramount necessity, if equal rights and  opportunities are must for them in any civilized society. Therefore crimes against women need to be dealt sternly.
