‘Beti Bachao Beti Padao’ awareness campaign in Tral

Srinagar, Mar 16: In view of ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ scheme launched by Central Government to promote the safety and education of girl child, the district administration of Pulwama in South Kashmir with active collaboration of JK Developmental Action group conducted awareness and training programs in different villages of Tral and adjoining areas.
Giving details about the program and awareness mission the project coordinator of JK DAG, Arshid Ahmed, said that the aim of the project is to spread awareness regarding the importance of protecting and educating girl child.
“The programme focuses on not only on protection and education of girl child but emphasis is laid on the economic schemes laid down by government for welfare of girl child and women.
“It has been reported time and again that girl child ratio is declining to alarming levels in many parts of the country and our state has not a rozypicture to offer either,” he said.
The coordinator said that so far dozens of villages have been covered in the Tral area of Pulwama district and peoples’ participation has been encouraging. Nukad Natak activities have added boon for the awareness activities as many famous artists have lend their support to the ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padoe’ mission, he added.
