JAMMU, Oct 8: Former MLC and senior BJP leader, Vikram Randhawa has stated that better road connectivity is a vital component of socio-economic development.
Interacting with residents of Brahaman Mohalla in Ward number 5 of Chowadhi here today, the BJP leader claimed that all road projects in J&K shall be completed within their set timeframes.
He hailed Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways, Nitin Gadkari for sanctioning the project for development of Jakh (Vijaypur)-Kunjwani section of NH-44 to 6-lane Expressway standard as part of Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway including the development of Kunjwani to 4th Tawi Bridge section of NH-144A to four-lane NH standards at the revised cost estimate of Rs.1917.32 cr under Bharatmala Pariyojana in J&K on Hybrid Annuity Mode.
“These projects will accelerate development, meet aspirations of the people and facilitate ease of living,” the BJP leader maintained adding that proper healthcare facility, education and economic activities will reach masses with the availability of roads.
“The remote circles, villages and areas of our Union Territory need to be road connected,” he said, adding that PMGSY is the path through which it can be done.
