JAMMU, Jan 2: Former Minister and Ex-MLA Jammu West, Sat Sharma (CA) started works for lane at Krishna Nagar area of Ward 12. Sharma was accompanied by Corporator and Chairman SJC, Jeet Angral, Mandal president, Keshav Chopra, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) officials, local residents and political activists of the area. The leaders also interacted with the public on Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and held a meeting with the locals afterwards in which the real perspective of CAA was explained to the people.
The works will be executed under the supervision of JMC and the lane which is to be constructed includes construction of stairs behind Super Speciality Hospital near Jangam Mandir. The works will be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 2.25 lakhs.
Speaking on the occasion, Sat Sharma said that development has reached to a new spot in Jammu West Assembly segment and all pending works which were delayed due to administrative and other reasons are now being taken up and are being executed in a stipulated time frame which has avoided public distress.
He stated that the main problem in Krishna Nagar was the Nullah which disturbed the inhabitants and shopkeepers of Krishna Nagar and Canal Road a lot in rainy season and during his tenure as MLA. The works for streamlining of the same was sanctioned on which crores of rupees were spent and now it is complete which has resulted into stoppage of garbage and dirty water from drains into the houses, shops and Mohallas which has provided a major relief to thousands of people. Throwing light on CAA, Sharma also appealed people to beware of negative propaganda floated by Congress and other opposition parties on CAA and stated that every nationalist must support CAA to maintain the unity and harmony of our country.
Jeet said that Krishna Nagar Ward was not developed earlier but during the tenure of Sat Sharma as MLA all lanes and drains, sanitation system, power scenario and other things improved a lot which has made it one of the developed and clean wards in Jammu.
