JAMMU, Aug 27: Bahu Fort Development Committee (BFDC) today held a protest demonstration against Power Development Department (PDD) for its alleged failure to restore electric supply at Pacca Talab and Matador Stand, Bahu Fort, here.
The members of BFDC came on road today to express their resentment against PDD for not installing new transformers. The angry protesters blocked the road and raised slogans demanding immediate restoration of power supply by installing new transformers.
The protest demonstration was led by Rajeev Charak, president BFDC, accompanied by Ishant Gupta, spokesman BFDC, Hardesh Kumar Khokher, vice president BFDC.
Charak said that the two transformers– one at Pacca Talab and the other at Matador Stand got defused three days back but the department is showing blind eye and till now no step has been taken to restore them.
Keeping in mind the Janmashtmi festival tomorrow, he demanded the PDD to look into the matter and take necessary steps to restore the electricity at earliest so that they can celebrate the Festival without any hindrance.
