RAJOURI, Aug 30: The ongoing strike by faculty members of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU) Rajouri entered into 5th consecutive day today.
The protesting faculty members are annoyed over the manner in which their genuine and agreed demands are being ignored. They alleged that university administration was not resolving their pending issues and acting as mute spectators to the deteriorating situation in the university.
The decision to go on indefinite strike was taken in a general body meeting of BGSBUTA, held under the chairmanship of Dr Asgar Ali Shah, president of the Association.
“Teaching fraternity feels suffocated. Many departments in University are facing shortage of faculty but administration does not bother to fulfill their needs,” said a protesting teacher while adding that the prevailing situation was directly affecting quality of education.
