BGSBU gets Rs 15 cr under TEQIP

RAJOURI, Aug 1: Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India, in collaboration with the World Bank, has selected Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University, under the “Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme” (TEQUIP) for its School of Engineering & Technology.
The Third phase of Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme is fully integrated with the Twelfth Five-year Plan objectives for Technical Education as a key component for improving the quality of Engineering Education in existing institutions with a special consideration for Low Income States and Special Category States and support to strengthen few technical universities to improve their policy, academic and management practices.
Prof. Javed Musarrat, Vice Chancellor BGSBU, is the Institutional Project Director, Prof. Iqbal Perwez, Registrar is TEQIP Coordinator and Suneet Gupta, Joint Registrar is the TEQUIP Co-Coordinator.
Prof Javed Musarrat said that this is a landmark achievement for the growth and development of the University which shall take the University to the next level of academic excellence. He said that the TEQUIP funding shall be fully utilized for improvement in teaching, training and learning facilities and establishing state of-the-art laboratories, classrooms, procurement of books and learning resources.
The Vice Chancellor said that under the TEQUIP programme, the University shall introduce Remedial/GATE/ Student Conference , provide for Research Assistantships for students, introduce MOOCs & digital learning and shall regularly be conducting seminars, conferences and training programmes, which shall help the students of B Tech of BGSBU to achieve new strides at the National and International level.
