RAJOURI, Feb 27 : Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University’s National Knowledge Network (NKN) today kicked off 2 day National Seminar Workshop on Wireless & Computer Networks (WCN) in the department of Computer Sciences in which atleast 200 candidates are participating.
On the occasion, Organising Secretary and Nodal Officer of National Knowledge Network Dr Sanjay Jamwal threw light on the objective of the workshop while proceedings were conducted by Research Scholar Mir Aadil.
Jamwal also introduced the participants with NKN saying that the idea of setting up a National Knowledge Network first emerged through deliberations between the office of Principal Scientific Advisor to the Government of India and the National Knowledge Commission. He added that the purpose of such a knowledge network goes to the very core of the country’s quest to build quality institutions with requisite research facilities and create a pool of highly trained persons.
A technical first session was held by Gurpreet Singh, a networking and internet expert while afternoon session was held by recipient of All India Teachers Award by AICTE, Dr Atul Gonsai, Associate Professor of Saurashtra University, Rajkot Gujarat.
In the inaugural function, Head Department of Computer Sciences Qamar Rayees along with faculty members of other departments and students were present.
