BGSBU kicks off 8th academic session

RAJOURI, July 31: Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU) has kicked off the 8th academic session with new entrants from all corners of the State attending the classes. About 3400 candidates applied for admission to different courses among whom 2000 candidates applied for Engineering courses alone.
Expressing satisfaction over the admission, Prof IA Hamal Vice Chancellor said that students have applied for admission to Ph D, M Phil, Masters, Bachelors, B Tech and Diploma courses. In B Tech courses, of the 2000 candidates who competed in the State Level Entrance Test only 300 students were finally admitted to different streams of Engineering, he added.
Hamal further stated that the University has also finalized admissions in Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Computer Applications (MCA), Master of Applied Mathematics (MAM), Master of Business Administration-Financial Management (MBA-FM), Master of Science in Information Technology (M Sc IT), Master in Arabic (MAR), B Tech Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), B Tech Electronics and Communications (ECE), B Tech, Electrical and Renewable Energy, B Tech. Information Technology (IT) and B Tech, Civil Engineering (CE).
The admission process for Masters programme in Bioresources’ Biotechnology (MBBT), which is through National level Test conducted by Jawaharlal Nehru University New Delhi is in progress, he maintained.
He stated that the University has also admitted students to Bachelors Degree courses in Computer Applications (BCA), Business Administration (BBA), Arabic (BAR) and Information Technology (BIT) and professional Diploma Engineering programme in Electronics and Communication, Electrical, Civil and Mechanical Engineering.
