JAMMU, Jan 28: Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU) organized a blood donation camp at the University Health Center today.
The initiative led by the National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of the University was held in collaboration with the Department of Blood Transfusion Medicine, Government Medical College (GMC) & Associated Hospitals Rajouri.
The Camp received an overwhelming response from students and staff showcasing their dedication to community service. Medical professionals from GMC Rajouri led by Dr Iram Yasmeen (HoD, Blood Transfusion Medicine) ensured the smooth and safe conduct of the event.
Dr Javed Reshi, Medical Consultant at the University Health Center, played a pivotal role in coordinating the event seamlessly. Speaking on the occasion, Vice-Chancellor BGSBU Prof Jawaid Iqbal said, “The blood donation camp exemplifies BGSBU’s unwavering dedication to social responsibility and community welfare”.
Registrar BGSBU, Shahbaz Ahmed Mirza also commended the initiative highlighting the University’s holistic approach to development. “Blood donation is an unparalleled act of humanity and I am proud of everyone who participated in this endeavor,” he added.
NSS Coordinator Dr Parvez Abdullah said that the camp underscores their commitment to instilling a sense of social responsibility among students while addressing critical healthcare needs in the region.
