RAJOURI, Feb 1: In order to popularize Mathematics, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University Rajouri held one day Students Conference.
About 250 students of various universities and colleges of Jammu province participated in the conference while Prof Irshad A Hamal, Vice Chancellor of BGSBU, distributed prizes among the winners.
The winner of Conference and Presentation under graduate category was Allia Iqbal of Himalayan Degree College. Ghulam Mohd Tantray of COET, BGSBU, got 2nd position while Sobia Firdous of GDC Mendhar secured 3rd position. 4th position was shared by Krishma Suri, Mehmood Hussain and Zahid Mir of GDC Poonch, GDC Surankote and GDC Budhal, respectively.
In PG category, Shayesta Farooq Lone of Deptt of Mathematical Sciences BGSBU Rajouri clinched 1st position. Nisha Arora of Department of Maths, SMVDU Katra got 2nd position while Qasim Ch and Miss Saima Maqbool of Department of Mathematical Sciences BGSBU secured 3rd and 4th position respectively.
In the Conference under School category, Umahviya Qureshi of Panorama Public School Rajouri clinched 1st Position, Zohaib-ul-Hassan of HEM School 2nd position and Sajjad Hussain of International School Rajouri 3rd position. 4th position was shared by Sahil Thakur of AGPS Rajouri and Asiya of S R College Rajouri .
In Written Competition, under PG Category, Zahid Bashir, Abhishek Sharma and Mohd Qasim of Dept of Mathematical Sciences BGSBU Rajouri got 1st, 2nd and 3rd position respectively, whereas 4th position was shared by two candidates Roohie Mushtaq of BSGBU and Rahul Basotra of SMVDU.
Under graduate category, Zahid Hussain of GDC Poonch stood 1st, Iqra Latief of COET, BGSBU 2nd, Khushal Gupta of Himalayan Degree College, Rajouri 3rd and Ruksana of GDC Surankote 4th.
In School category, Bushra Fatima and Saniya Ayoub of Himalayan Education Mission HSS, Rajouri got 1st and 2nd position respectively. 3rd position was shared by Amim Altaf of Delhi Public School, Sajan Raina of International HSS Rajouri and Sandeep Kour of HEM School. 4th position was shared by Mohd Ibrar of HEM School, Sayed Ashfaq of INHSS and Umer Mirza of AGPS Rajouri.
