BGSBU organizes workshop on “Information Security & Cyber Forensics”

RAJOURI, Oct 14: Department of Information Technology and Engineering, College of Engineering & Technology in  Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University organized a two-day workshop on “Information Security and Cyber Forensics” in association with Cyber Cure Solution Private Limited, Delhi.
The focus of the workshop was to abreast students with the latest developments in the security domain. Atul Ojha, Technical Manager was the resource person for the workshop.
Various practical sessions on Ethical hacking: Legal or Illegal, Emails Exploitation, OS Hacking, Virus Writing, WWW Attacks, Network attacks, Software Reverse Engineering and Mobile Hacking were conducted.
Workshop was attended by 39 students from various departments of the university.
Prof Mohammad Asger, Principal College of Engineering & Technology emphasized the need for conducting such workshop in future as Information technology is a rapid changing field.
Malik Mubasher Hassan, Head Department of Information Technology & Engineering laid strong focus on students to learn about the new attack vectors and their countermeasures.
Manmeet Singh, Workshop Coordinator warned the students against the misuse of security tools and expressed faith that they should learn these things for purely defensive and development purposes only.
Auqib Hamid, Irfan Hamid and Divya Sharma were the student coordinators for the workshop.
