RAJOURI, Feb 28: In a significant step towards academic and skill development collaboration, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU), Rajouri, has explored collaboration with Romeo Force of Indian Army.
For the purpose, Prof Jawaid Iqbal, Vice Chancellor of BGSBU, along with Prof M J Warsi, Dean Academic Affairs, and Dr Pervez Alam, Chief Proctor, visited the headquarters of GOC Romeo Force in Rajouri. The visit focused on exploring avenues for cooperation in academics, extracurricular activities, and skill enhancement initiatives.
During the discussions, Vice Chancellor Prof Jawaid Iqbal highlighted BGSBU’s commitment to academic excellence and skill training, emphasizing the university’s role in regional development. Both parties agreed to collaborate on various initiatives aimed at improving education and professional training in the area.
Expressing gratitude for the collaboration, Vice Chancellor Prof Jawaid Iqbal reaffirmed the university’s commitment to strengthening ties with the defence forces, recognizing their vital role in fostering academic and social progress. He emphasized that such partnerships contribute significantly to the holistic growth and development of the region.
GoC Romeo Force, Maj Gen Manish Gupta, assured full support to BGSBU in its educational initiatives, facilitating opportunities for students and faculty in research, leadership programs, and community service. He appreciated BGSBU’s efforts in implementing the National Education Policy (NEP) and introducing new academic programs. He also stressed the significance of courses in Linguistics and Social Sciences, which play a crucial role in communication, cultural understanding, and societal development.
Prof M J Warsi, Dean Academic Affairs, apprised GoC Romeo Force about the university’s plans to introduce new courses in Engineering, Linguistics, Sciences, and Social Sciences, in line with NEP’s implementation in the upcoming session.
