RAJOURI, Mar 11: Students of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University Rajouri held protest demonstration against the non-availability of  transportation from Rajouri to the campus about 6 kms away from town and overcharging by the Minibus and Tata Magic operators.
The students assembled near Sheema Morh near Airfield Rajouri and held protest demonstration against the District Administration. The students alleged that condition of road to BGSB University was bad. Due to this mini-bus and other passenger vehicle operators avoid to go there. Moreover, they charge Rs 20 per passenger just for 6 kms distance. There is no check by the local authorities on the operators and the students are facing hardships. The students blocked road during protest. The police resorted to mild lathi-charge on them to clear the road.
The students  boycotted their classes and started raising slogans against the Administration. Later, Additional DC and AC Revenue and DySP Headquarters invited students for discussion. They assured them to resolve their issue. The ADC Mohd Salim directed and fixed Rs 10 as fare from Rajouri to BGSB University and warned action for any violation.  He said that condition of road will also be improved within couple of days and also more vehicles will be plied on this route. The students then suspended their protest.
