BHADERWAH, Mar 24: Accusing the Congress leaders who represented the Bhderwah-Doda region in the Lok Sabha from time to time of betraying the cause of the region only to promote their personal career prospects in New Delhi, BJP candidate for Udhampur-Kathua-Doda Lok Sabha Constituency Dr Jitendra Singh said here today, the long standing grievances of the areas cannot be redressed, by Non-Resident leaders residing in the Union Capital.
Continuing with his campaign in erstwhile Doda district, Dr Jitendra Singh today held election meetings in several areas in Marmat block and public rally in Bhaderwah. Referring to recent Kishtwar riots, Dr Jitendra Singh said the traditional composite culture of the region was sought to be eroded by the ruling party politicians who tried to instigate hatred against the minority community simply for vote because they had failed to keep the promise of bringing about development.
Dr Jitendra Singh said, the Narendra Modi Government, which is going to take over in New Delhi in May, will constitute a Commission to order a CBI probe to expose the politicians responsible for communal strife and announce a special package for VDCs and SPOs.
Expediting work on various bridges under construction like the Ganpat bridge and hydro-electric projects will be a priority, he said.
Ashwani Chrungoo president Panun Kashmir who is accompanying the BJP candidate while addressing the rally said Dr Singh represents the sentiments of the people of this hilly region. He appealed the people to cast their vote in his favour enmass so that the nationalist forces are strengthened in the State and the aspirations of the masses in this hilly belt are fulfilled.
He said vote for Dr Singh is a vote to install Narindera Modi on PM’s post. He recalled the role played by the nationalist people of erstwhile Doda district always and expressed the hope that they will give a befitting answer to those parties who exploited them over the years just to remain in power always.
Among others, Dilip Singh Parihar, Shakti Parihar, Som Raj Khajuria, Sunil Sharma, Manjit Razdan, Kaushal Kotwal, Raj Singh, Satish Kotwal, Mohd Amin and Din Mohd also addressed the rally and appealed the people to strengthen hands of Mr Modi by casting their vote in favour of Dr Jitendra Singh. They said the people in erstwhile Doda district are enthusiastic to see that a highly intellectual like Dr Singh should represent them in the Lok Sabha.
