JAMMU, Nov 5: Department of Computer Science & IT, Bhaderwah Campus,  in collaboration with Institution of Electronics and Telecommunic-ation Engineers, Jammu Centre, organized one day Regional Seminar on “Future Trends in IT – Challenges and Implications”.
The Seminar was inaugurated by  Sunil Kumar Sharma,  Minister of State for Public Works (R&B) and Revenue while  Bhupinder Kumar, Deputy Commissioner, Doda was guest of honour on the occasion.
The seminar had four technical sessions wherein more than thirty papers were presented by scholars coming from various parts of the country. Each paper presentation session was followed by brain storming discussions and on the issues raised by the scholars in their presentations. The experts from various reputed IT institutions enlightened the participants with the new/emerging trends in the field of Information Technology.   Neelam Chauhan, Sahil Jasrotia and  Anil Gupta from Kathua Campus,  Mohsina Ishrat from Department of Computer Science and IT, JU and  Ruhi Sharma from Kishtwar Campus, were selected as best paper presenters by the chairperson and co-chair person of technical session I/II/III/IV respectively.
Prof  G M  Bhat, Rector of the Bhaderwah Campus,  appreciated the endeavours of the department for the academic exposure of the students of the whole campus in general and the MCA Department in particular.
Sourabh Shastri read out the theme of the seminar wherein he emphasized upon the need of serious research in the field of Information Technology for the real progress of the country.
Prof  Pawanesh Abrol, in his keynote address, highlighted the existing status, challenges and implications of IT in the world and for the Indian professionals particularly.
The seminar concluded  with very productive findings and suggestions by the participant scholars from various parts of the country.
Jatinder Manhas welcomed the guests in valedictory Session.  Chhering Tandup read out the seminar report. Dr  Kuljit Singh and  Sourabh Shastri presented vote of thanks in the inaugural session and valedictory session respectively. Dr  Rakesh Sharma, Assistant Professor and  Kuljeet Singh, student of MCA conducted the proceedings during the inaugural session and valedictory session respectively.
