Bhaderwah, Kishtwar, Vaishno Devi Shrine receive fresh snowfall, rains in Jammu

JAMMU: More than one-month-long dry spell ended on Monday with plains receiving spell of rains while hilly districts, including Doda and Kishtwar, received fresh snowfall.

World famous Shri Mata Vaishno Devi shrine and tourist spots Patnitop and Nathatop also received fresh snowfall.

Reports from Bhaderwah said the town witnessed snowfall since early morning. “The entire Bhaderah region turned white with spell of snowfall,” said an official.

Kishtwar SSP Abrar Ahmed Chowdhary said here, “Heavy snowfall is on in the district. We are on job.”

“The road is being cleared to prevent traffic chaos and stranded vehicles have been cleared,” said the SSP.

The top cop said all Station House Officers of the district have been directed to remain alert in their respective areas.

However, Trikuta Hills of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine also received heavy snowfall.

Amid snowfall, tourists were performing the pilgrimage to the cave shrine to pay obeisance.

Meanwhile, locals and tourists also rushed to the Patnitop and Nathatop tourist destinations, located on Jammu-Srinagar national highway to enjoy the fresh snowfall.

The plains of Jammu also received rains thus dipping the temperature in the region.
