BHADERWAH, Oct 25: The two day long Bhaderwah Tourism-cum-Cultural Folk Festival concluded here with the singing of famous Bollywood numbers by renowned Singer and Producer Kamal Khan.
The festival was organized by the Bhaderwah Development Authority (BDA) in collaboration with Tourism and other departments.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Bhaderwah Development Authority Bal Krishan, SDM Bhaderwah Mohammad Anwar Banday, ASP Amit Bhasin, SDPO Sardar Sajjad Khan, SHO Bhaderwah Bandeshwar Singh Manhas, BDA publicity secretary Amir Rafeqi and other officers were also present on the valedictory function.
On the concluding day, a cultural programme including Bhaderwahi Dhaku Dance, Bhaderwahi folk songs, Dogri songs, Punjabi songs and dance was also organized at famous tourist resort of Bhaderwah.
Musical performance by the artists of Song and Drama Division, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Jammu, local artists and children in Bhaderwahi, Siraji, Kashmiri, Dogri, Urdu and Hindi was highly applauded by the audience.
The mementos and medals were presented by the chief guest to the departments and officers who participated in the festival and established their stalls for dissemination of information regarding various welfare schemes being implemented by them. Various schools and educational institutions which participated in the festival were also felicitated.
Speaking on the occasion, Bollywood singer and producer Kamal Khan said that, “Tourism being the back bone of the State’s economy is strengthened by the efforts made by the State and Central Governments by creating tourism infrastructure and bringing more areas on the tourism map”.
He added that the festival provided a suitable platform to the local artists to showcase their talent and provided them a chance to interact with renowned artists of the country, who participated in the festival.
“Participation of people from different regions of the country will help the people of Chenab Valley region in understanding the culture and tradition of these people”, he added.
Earlier, the festival was inaugurated by CM Mufti Mohammad Sayeed along with Dy CM Dr Nirmal Singh, MOS R&B Sunil Sharma, MLA Bhaderwah Daleep Singh Parihar and MLA Doda Shakti Raj Parihar.
