JAMMU, Aug 24: Bhagat Mahasabha here today organised a candle march to resent the killing of Inder Kumar Meghwal, a nine years old Dalit boy in Rajasthan who was beaten by his school teacher for drinking water from a pot meant for teachers.
Mohinder Bhagat, president Bhagat Mahasabha expressed dismay over existence of such hate crimes on caste base even after 75 years of Independence.
He said that the culprit involved in killing the child should be given exemplary punishment and appealed to all the social and religious organisations to come forward to denounce the inhuman act.
Bodh Raj Bhagat, national vice president of Mahasabha; Pawan Bhagat, chairman BMS; Vivak Bhagat, Pandit Banshi Bhagat, Yashpal, Tilak Raj, Deepak Bhagat, Rajesh Bhagat, Sardar Dara Singh, Darshan Bhagat and Sunesh Bhagat were also present in the protest.
