KATHUA, June 5: A grand Gurmat Samagam/Kirtan Darbar was organized by Bhagat Puran Singh Social Welfare Society Kathua at Gurdwara Singh Sabha, Dashmesh Nagar, Sawan Chak to create awareness about the ill effects of drug addiction on the youth. The Gurmat Samagam was held under the supervision of Mahant Manjit Singh Ji of Shiromani Dera Nangali Sahib Poonch.
Many Ragis & preachers within and outside State participated in the religious function. Bhai Ravinder Singh Ragi from Darbar Sahib Amritsar, Giani Jaswant Singh Parwana of Punjab and Navdeep Singh of Ajnala preached the religious education of holy Guru Granth Sahib against drug addiction. Many political and social personalities also spoke on this occasion including members of DGPC, Kathua and Jammu .
Rajiv Jasrotia, Forest Minister was also present on the occasion highly appreciated the Sikh youth for their efforts against drug addiction and supported in this regard. Sudershan Singh Wazir, Chairman Sikh United Front J&K and Ex-president J&K State Gurdwara Prabhandak Board complimented the organizers of function for launching a crusade against drug abuse and offered their full cooperation in this regard. Forest Minister also accepted some demands of the local area on spot. The Siropas were also given to the prominent personalities.
