JAMMU, Apr 27:  Three-day celebrations in  connection with Bhagwan Parshuram Jayanti began today with an impressive Shobha Yatra, Yagya and Bhajan Kirtan by Dogra Brahman Pratinidhi Sabha,  Jammu.
The impressive  Shobha Yatra was taken out from the Brahman Sabha near  Parade Ground.   It comprised of  tableau from different parts of Jammu region, depicting  the  role  played by different incarnations of God  for welfare of humanity .
A large number of people from Brahman community, students and prominent citizens took part in the Shobha Yatra.
After passing through Moti Bazar, Pacca Danga, Chowk Chabutra, Jain Bazar, Link Road, Purani Mandi, City Chowk, Kanak  Mandi, Rajinder Bazar, Veer Marg, Raghunath Bazar, Ranbireshwar Mandir, it culminated again at Chanakaya Chowk Brahman Sabha, Parade, Jammu.
Ganga Dhar Shastri,   a renowned Saint,  along with his followers, was part of the Jhanki of  Sidheshwar  Dawarka Nath Shastri Ji Maharaj. Impressive Jhankies of Baba Bhair Devta and Mata Mahalakshmi were part of the Shobha Yatra for the first time.
Enroute, the Shobha Yatra was accorded  warm reception  by the shopkeepers associations and other social organizations. Stalls were arranged at various points and the markets were decorated.
Besides V P Sharma, president of Dogra Brahman Paratinidhi  Sabha, the prominent persons  who took part in the Shobha Yatra, included,  Chander Parkash Ganga (Minister for Industries and Commerce), MP Jugal Kishore Sharma, Rajesh Gupta (MLA Jammu East),  Sat Pal Sharma (MLA Jammu West),  Ashok Khajuria (MLC), Rajiv Sharma (MLA), Sukhnandan Choudhary (MLA), Dr  Manohar Lal Sharma (Ex Minister), Ramesh Arora (MLC and  president Arora Sabha),  B S  Slathia (president JKBA), Naryan Singh, (president of Amar Kashtriya Rajput Sabha),  Romesh Gupta (president of  Mahajan Sabha), president of  Aggarwal Sabha, Sat Pal Sharma (general secretary Shree Sanatan Dharam Natak Samaj) and president Ravi Dass Sabha.
Other, who participated in the Shobha Yatra, included  Pt  Som Nath Sharma,  Satyanand Sharma, Verinder Mohan Magotra,   Purshotam Chander  Sharma,  M L  Sharma, Dr  Som Dutt  Magotra,  P P  Sharma,  Chander Mohan Sharma,  Surinder Sharma,  J N  Sharma,  K L Sharma,  Mohan Lal Sharma,  Nanak  Chand Sharma,  Sat Pal Sharma, Subash Shastri,  Gurdas Sharma, Anuj Sharma, Vijay Sharma,  Mahant Har Dut Sharma, Shiv Ram Sharma,  Devinder Sharma, Vijay Sharma, D N Pangotra, Advocate Rajesh Thappa, Advocate  Shiv Charan Dass, Rajesh  Bhadgotra,  Kerni, Kali Dass Sharma, Ram Murti,  Prem Sharma, Girdhari Lal Sharma, Chander Shekhar, Kuldeep Modi,  Nitin Dharmat,  Shanti Saroop Barn,  Bodh Raj Sharma,   Jagdish Dogra,  Dev Raj  Sharma, Raman Sharma and   Ravi Sharma.
Earlier, in the morning, a Yagya was performed in the Brahman Sabha premises and this was followed by a Sahbhoj (community kitchen) wherein Prasad was distributed. Thereafter, a  Kirtan was organized  in which  Sat Pal Raina and  Brij Bala presented  Bhajans.
