JAMMU, Jan 5: In the ongoing ‘Akshit Vitaran’ in all 163 Basties designated by RSS in Jammu, Newplot Basti completed the programme first under the leadership of senior BJP leader and former Mayor, Rajinder Sharma.
The Kalash containing Akshits was taken to every household numbering 635 in Newplot locality and the Akshits were distributed there. Every Basti was given one Kalash. The people accorded warm welcome to the Akshits on arrival. The people turned emotional and were in tears.
Speaking on the occasion, Rajinder Sharma Ex Mayor asked the people to keep the Akshits at temples in their houses and seek blessings.
They were also given a photograph of the Shri Ram Ji temple and pamphlet containing details of the story of struggle for the religious place.
They were also asked to decorate their homes on January 22 on the day of consecration ceremony at Ram temple, Ayodhya.
They were informed that Shiv Badrinath temple in Newplot will organise a grand Arti on January 22 in which all should join and prasad will also be served to the devotees there.
The former Mayor also asked the people of Newplot to lit five earthen lamps in their homes on the day of consecration ceremony of Shri Ram temple in Ayodhya .
He also threw light on the life of Bhagwan Ram and said that his principles are taken by Mahatma Gandhi and these principles formed the basics of Indian democracy.
“Ram in his life lived ideally and set an example. We should inculcate him in our lives,” Rajinder Sharma maintained adding that on the day of consecration ceremony of Ram temple, programmes will also be organised across the world.
