JAMMU, Aug 21: On the eve of  Shrimad Bhagwat Saptah and Shri Krishan Janamashtami, a grand Kalash Yatra was taken out, here today.
The Yatra commenced from  Geeta Bhawan, Parade Ground Jammu and passed through various bazaars of the city, like Shalamar, City Chowk, Purani Mandi, Ram Mandir and  Raj Tilak Road before culminating back to Geeta Bhawan.
Phool Kumar Shastri, Sunderbani Wale, also participated in the yatra and lauded Satsang Prachar Sewa Mandal Jammu Kashmir for organizing such a religious event in Jammu.
Speaking on the occasion, the Shastri called upon the people to participate in such events. He said that joint celebration by people from all walks of life is hallmark of the composite culture of the State and  it strengthens the social fabric of the society.
Rajesh Verma, organizing secretary of the Satsang Prachar Sewa Mandal, J&K, informed that the Bhagwat Saptah is commencing from tomorrow and it will continue till August 27, from 2 pm to 6 pm at Geeta Bhawan, Parade Ground Jammu. On August 25, grand celebration of Shri Krishan Janamashtami will be held  from 9 a.m to 12 pm midnight. On last day of the programme, Virat Sant Sammelan will be held at 1 pm at Geeta Bhawan, in which prominent saints of Jammu city and outskirt will participate and guide the society to the path of righteousness. A grand Bhandara will also be held on August 27 after the Sammelan.
