JAMMU, Mar 26: Taking onus on itself for rehabilitation of displaced Kashmiri Pandits back in the Kashmir valley -their ancestral land where from they have been hounded out over 31 years back, and adding a new leaf to the Kashmiri Pandits history, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) for the first time in its 96 year old history after its formation in 1925 is going to organise three -day long Navreh festival from April 12 to 14 this year. The festival will conclude with virtual address of RSS chief (Sar Sanghchalak), Dr Mohan Rao Bhagwat to displaced Pandits putting up all over the globe besides, Sarswat Brahmins claiming to have their linage in Kashmir and had settled in different parts of India during last seven exoduses faced by the minority Pandits in different times on the evening of April 14.
According to sources, RSS is going to launch a protracted nationwide campaign in this regard to link the displaced Pandits as well as all the Sarswat Brahmins to their moorings. This is for the first time since the formation of the Sangh and in the last over 31 years of Kashmiri Pandits mass exodus from the Valley that RSS has decided to organise such a massive three day long programme for the displaced Pandits all over the globe and also link the Sarswat Brahmins who too had their roots in Kashmir to their moorings. The concluding programme will be virtually addressed by none else than Sangh Chief, Dr Mohan Rao Bhagwat himself.
Sources said in this regard RSS chief (Sar Sangchalak), Dr Mohan Rao Bhagwat is going to address the Kashmiri Pandit Samaj displaced in nineties and Sarswat Brhamins claiming to have migrated from Kashmir valley during past exoduses and settled in different parts of country on April 14 evening to instill a confidence among them that entire nation is solidly behind the community for their return and rehabilitation in their ancestral homeland –Kashmir where from they were forced to flee over 31 years back and before.
Sources said though return and rehabilitation of minority Hindus to Kashmir is the main priority of Sangh to revive the age old culture of Kashmir -a land of Rishis and Saints, the major thrust of its strategy in this regard will be restoration of peace in the trouble -torn Valley so that the displaced people after their return can feel a sense of security and belongingness.
Sources said, the RSS chief in his address will deliberate on prevailing situation in the Valley and his thrust will be on the restoration of peace and tranquility there so that people can feel totally secured as well as belongingness there after their return.
Sources said that Sangh is committed to return and rehabilitation of the displaced Pandits to Valley and it will not make any compromise on the same. Sangh does not make false announcements and promises like political parties but it strictly works for attainment of its goal like abrogation of Articles 370 and 35-A or construction of Ram temple at Ayodhya for which it has started a campaign for decades all over the country. There can be delay in attainment of the goal but Sangh never gives up and continues its struggle till its attainment, sources added.
Sources said the return and rehabilitation of Pandits has also been the main plank of RSS since the mass exodus of minority Hindus from Valley in the year 1989 -90 and being a nationalist and patriotic organization it could ill afford the cleansing of nationalist people from Kashmir. Sources said now the RSS leadership in the country feels that the time has come when the efforts should be made for the return and rehabilitation of Pandits in their ancestral homeland in Valley.
Sources said in this regard three festivals will be celebrated at a grand scale by Sangh on April 12, 13 and 14. On April 13 i. e first Navratra day which is being celebrated by Kashmiri Pandits as Navreh a solemn pledge will be taken by all the KPs all over the globe in the morning while performing the ritual darshan of “Thal” that “on the name of Goddess Sharda and Rishi Kashyap, I take a solemn pledge that I will be wedded to the cause of restoration of peace, tranquility and foster bonds of brotherhood in Kashmir, I will make all my contribution to keep its tradition and culture alive, I will make earnest efforts that I along with my other members of the community will celebrate the next Navreh along with my family members and other community members in Kashmir valley”.
All the Kashmiri Pandits all over the globe including men, women and children attired in their traditional dress will take the solemn pledge while performing morning rituals on Navreh day.
This will be given a wide publicity on social media, face book etc, sources said, adding the Sanjeevani Sharda Kendra, Anand Nagar Bohri which is an offshoot of Sangh working in Kashmiri Samaj has been entrusted to make all arrangements in organizing the three day long programmes across the globe in connection with celebration of Navreh on large scale and all information will also be available on the Website of Sharda Kendra in this regard. The people after having darshan of `Navreh Thal’ in a traditional way have been asked to upload their selfies of the same on the social media.
The Sangh activists will launch wider campaign in all the KP localities in Jammu and outside the UT to ensure 100 percent participation of the community in the three -day long programme which will also comprise an essay writing competition among the children on Shree Bhat.
The April 12 which is being celebrated as Shree Bhat Divas -a great personality of Kashmir who was a doctor by profession who had saved the then King Sultan Zain -ul-Abdin from a fatal disease in 15th century and in return of gifting his life to the King Shriya Bhat demanded return of all Pandits back to Valley who were forced to flee due to the atrocities of King’s tyrant father, Sikander But Shikan during his rule. Zain-ul-Abdin who was also called Badshah accepted his demand and he called back all the Pandits who had fled from the Valley and settled them there again. The day will be also observed Tyag and Samparan Divas (Surrender Day).
The March 14 on which RSS chief will address the community in the evening will also be observed as Shourya Divas in the honour of great 8th century King of Kashmir Laltaditya Muktapida for his victory over Turks and programmes in this regard will be organised on his life history and achievements as this great King had expanded his kingdom upto South Asia.
By organizing these programmes the Sangh wants to link the KPs living across the globe to their rich cultural heritage of Kashmir. Sources said that various meetings were organised by SSK under the leadership of RSS Prant Pracharak J&K, Rupesh Kumar in which the strategy for the three -days programme were discussed in detail and responsibilities entrusted to the activists for making the programme a grand success.
Besides, the conveners and co-conveners for various zones were also nominated to make contact with the people of Kashmiri Pandit community to ensure their cent percent participation in the programmes.
