JAMMU, Dec 3: Kaal Bhairav Ashtami was celebrated today with religious fervour at ancient temple in Chowk Chabutra here.
On this occasion, a large number of devotees thronged the temple right since early in the morning to pay obeisance while a congregation of 52 Biradaris was also held at the shrine.
Special prayers were offered and certain rituals were performed. Entire area was beautifully decorated. Tight security arrangements were also done to avoid any untoward incident.
According to priest of the temple, Pandit Rumil Sharma, Kaal Bhairav is one of the incarnations of Lord Shiva.
Earlier, a Prabhat Pheri was taken out throughout the Jammu city reciting devotional songs in the praise of Kaal Bhairav.
Tomorrow there will be a grand Bhandara and preparations for the same were begun today.
