Bhajan Malla, Chalisa Sangreh hit stalls

JAMMU, Dec 2: Two religious booklets Bhajan Malla and Chalisa Sangreh published by Vijeshwar Panchang was released at Swami Kumar Ji Geeta Satsang Ashram, Muthi today in presence of social activists, scholars and devotees of Ashram.
The booklets were released by Swami Kumar Ji and Pt. Omkar Nath Shastri, chairman Pt Prem Nath Shastri Sanskritik Shodh Sansthan and editor in chief, Vijeshwar Panchang an almanac and religious granth of Kashmiri Pandits published by the Vijeshwar Jyotshi Karyalya for centuries together.
The booklets were released on the first death anniversary of Krishna Jyotshi and they were edited and compiled by Jyotshi Avtar Krishan Shastri, Editor Vijeshwar Panchang.
Speaking on the occasion, Swami Kumar Ji highlighted the role of Vijeshwar Jyotshi Karyalya, Bijbehara camp Gole Gujral in preservation of centuries old Kashmiri Pandit culture and traditions.
He said the Almanac which is a religious granth for Kashmiri Pandits links the community to its roots settled all over the globe. He said there will be no KP family which does not have a copy of the Vijeshwar Panchang in his home.
In his address, Pt. Omkar Nath Shastri highlighted the contribution of his family towards the preservation of age old Hindu culture of Kashmir and said that publication of Vijeshwar Panchang has been our family tradition started centuries back and it still continues.
He said its popularity is increasing day by day and the community diaspora abroad contact the publishers and printers on phone for supply of the copies either through courrier or post.
