JAMMU, July 24: On the auspicious 3rd Monday of Shravan month, a programme of devotional songs ‘Bhajan Sandhya’ devoted to Bhagwan Shiva & Goddess Parvati was organized at Panjvaktar Mahadev Mandir here this evening.
Keeping in view the importance of pious Shravan month the management of the Temple headed by Suresh Sharma, Administrator has decided to organize ‘Bhajan Sandhya’ programme every Monday of this auspicious month as a regular feature.
As part of celebration of Shravan Mahotsav, Pankaj Pradhan and Rakesh Kalotra, renowned classical singers, sons of the soil enthralled the devotees with the help of musicians.
A large number of devotees joined the religious programme.
Panjvaktar Mahadev Mandir is one of the oldest temples of Jammu city wherein the ‘Lingam’ is in Aap Shambu form.
The shrine is located in the heart of Jammu city and is also famous as ‘Rupay Wala Mandir’.
As per legends Adi Shankracharya stayed here during his visit to Jammu and Guru Nanak Dev Ji also had visited this temple and stayed here for three days.
