Bhajan Sandhya organized at Sidhi Vinayak Mandir

JAMMU, Sept 12: A Bhajan Sandhya was organised at Sidhi Vinayak Mandir, Ganesh Vihar Muthi today by Maha Ganesh Charitable Trust.
A large number of devotees attended the function which was held under the patronage of Jagar Nath Handoo chairman of the Trust.
The Sidhi Vinayak Mandir is a replica of Maha Ganesh Shrine of Hanand Chawalgam of Kulgam Kashmir. After the mass migration of displaced Pandits from Valley, the community has constructed a grand temple here on the design of South Indian temples.
Besides, the Bhajan Kirtan, religious discourses were held. The function was a prelude to grand function being held in the temple complex on Vinayak Chouram (Ganesh festival) falling on September 17.
The religious scholars highlighted the significance of Maha Ganesh Asthapan at Hanand Chawalgam to which the Hindu Biradri of the entire area was attached. They highlighted the significance of Lord Ganesh who is the first stair to spiritualism. They said no pooja -archana is valid as per Hindu scriptures without making a beginning with name of Lord Ganesha.
Prof Omkar Nath Raina threw light on the objective of constructing this grand temple in Jammu which he said is the first of its kind in the area. He said the Trust has constructed a grand community centre consisting of two halls of 4000 sq feet each which will be used for social and religious functions by the community.
He said the project needs a huge amount and during the Vinayak Chouram (Ganesh festival) a grand function will be held in the temple complex which will be attended by the devotees from Jammu and other parts of the country. He said well known scholars and artists will also grace the programe. On the occasion 1100 Diyas will be lit and the devotee intending to lit a Diya has to pay Rs 1100 as donation. This programme has been organised for fund generation as the Trust has decided to launch some welfare projects for the displaced people.
