JAMMU, Aug 23: Former minister and JKPCC vice president, Raman Bhalla today asked the BJP to stop befooling people of the country by spreading falsehood against Congress Party.
While addressing workers’ convention at Nanak Nagar in Gandhi Nagar constituency today, Bhalla urged the cadre to strengthen the Party further, saying it is the Congress party alone which is capable of defeating the wrong policies of BJP and ensuring justice to the people.
“ Our only stand is a single J&K, to maintain its unity and integrity and respecting the wishes and aspirations of the people here,” Bhalla said.
He said that collective approach was imperative for fulfilment of the distinct urges and developmental aspirations of the region. He stressed the need for further strengthening the communal harmony, saying that bonding between various segments of the society and regions holds promise for prosperous, progressive and united Jammu and Kashmir. He said social justice forms core of the democratic set-up and this should be ensured at all the levels and at all costs.
“The development effort initiated by the Congress Government was brought to grinding halt due to policy paralysis of the BJP,” he said. He castigated inimical forces for indulging in rhetoric and promoting divisive politics as they had nothing to offer to the people. He said development has become a big casualty due to the self centric approach of the BJP, which is now again hoodwinking the public opinion by making false promises and indulging in emotive politics.
Bhalla said BJP could not get away from answering to the people as they feel let down, degraded, humiliated and left in lurch during the past over seven years. The promises made were never kept and, in fact, the normal course of development was also put in the rear gear, as the self-centred agenda remained the top priority,” he said.
“The insult to the injury is that the BJP is again hoodwinking the people by emotive slogans, forgetting its role on the administrative and developmental front. This is brazen and speaks of the hypocrisy that is core of the BJP,” he added.
Prominent among those present in the meeting included-  Amrit Bali ,Vijay Chib, Kulbhushan Sharma , Mandeep Singh, Balwinder Singh Rinku, Gurdeep Singh and others.
