Bhalla asks Housing Board to complete ongoing projects in time

JAMMU, May  31: Asserting that every measure was being taken to provide improved basic amenities to the people   across the State, Minister for Housing, Horticulture, Culture, Youth Services and Sports Raman Bhalla today asked the Jammu and Kashmir Housing Board (JKHB) to complete all the ongoing projects well in time.
During a tour to Gadigarh area, he specially directed for early construction of facilities at Cremation Grounds   at Lower Gadigarh and  Indira Nagar near Bhour Camp garden.
He said Rs. 22 lakh has been released for the construction of waiting shed, water tank, washroom for females and males (Tootian), seating stairs and construction of protection wall on the embankment of local Barsati nallah.
Managing Director JKHB Ram Paul Sharma, besides other senior officers from PHE, R&B, UEED and JMC accompanied the Minister.
The Minister asked the executing agency to use quality material on development works adding that the Government has resolved to create durable assets for the people.
Listing the development projects taken up by the Government at Lower Gadigarh, Mr  Bhalla said that a full-fledged Tehsildar Office including Guest House, Primary Health Centre, Multipurpose Community Hall are under progress on war-footing in the area. He said all these projects are nearing completion and will be dedicated to the people shortly. He informed that all the buildings are being developed on modern lines.
Responding to the demands of locals, Mr. Bhalla asked the R&B to immediately start the construction work on  150-meter long protection wall of the nallah so that the soil erosion of the Revenue Complex land could be stopped.
The Minister called upon the people to cooperate with the executing agency in completing the ongoing complexes within stipulated time frame.
The Minister said the Government was endeavouring hard to create   modern line infrastructure and facilities in every nook and corner of the State so that the people do not face any inconvenience.
Earlier, Mr. Bhalla asked the Floriculture Department to gear up its men and machinery to maintain and renovate all the recreational parks situated in Gandhi Nagar and Shastri Nagar localities.
Responding to the local demands, Mr. Bhalla asked the JMC and Floriculture Department to work in coordination to remove bushes and renovate damaged walkways and steel grills in the local parks.
