JAMMU, Mar 4: The working president of JKPCC Raman Bhalla today asked party cadre to gear up for Parliamentary elections.
Addressing a meeting of District Congress Committee Jammu Urban organized by District president Manmohan Singh, Bhalla took stock of the preparations for the Parliament elections and asked the party cadre to gear up for these elections. The party sought input from Block and Ward presidents regarding the activities of the party. Bhalla criticized those parties who have been exploiting the sentiments of the people on various emotional issues for vote bank politics but utterly failed to deliver.
He asked the party functionaries to make aware the people of the communal agenda of BJP and defeat the nefarious designs of communal, divisive and separatist forces. He complimented the people of Jammu region for believing in togetherness and religious harmony despite grave provocations by vested interests.
Bhalla said that BJP Government in its ten years of rule has ruined the country in every field. “Every section of the society is suffering due to its wrong policies and wrong decisions. The people of Jammu and Kashmir are the most sufferers. The Modi Government has snatched the right of jobs and land from the people of J&K by downgrading a full-fledged state into Union Territory. The property tax, toll plazas, smart meters, unemployment has added more in the miseries of people of Jammu and Kashmir,” Bhalla added.
Cong leader said that the people of Jammu region, who were “promised the moon” by the BJP, today feel betrayed by the party as it never proceeded beyond ‘Jumlas’ creating merely false narratives to secure votes. He said even the BJP leaders know quite well that people of this region are waiting to teach them a lesson. BJP fears losing the elections whenever they are held. This is the reason that the Government has adopted delaying tactics even in holding of the Panchayat and ULB polls in J&K,” Bhalla said.
Prominent among those present on the occasion include Tarlok Singh Bajwa (ex MP), Ved Mahajan (ex-MLC), Hari Singh Chib, Rajnish Sharma (Mian), Surinder Singh Channi, Kanta Bhan, Narmata Sharma, Amrit Bali, Satish Sharma, Suresh Dogra, Rajesh Sadotra, Gurmeet Singh, Michael Wazir, Parveen Singh, Pawan Bhagat, Dr Ramakant Khajuria and others.
