JAMMU, Sept 16: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Working President Raman Bhalla called upon the party functionaries to highlight “various failures” of the BJP Government ahead of Urban Local Body (ULB) and Panchayat Polls.
He accused the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi of “snatching” rights over land and jobs from the people of Jammu and Kashmir and “downgrading” the state to a Union Territory.
Bhalla urged party workers to prepare to defeat the “anti-people, anti-youth, anti-students, anti-farmers” regime in the upcoming polls.
He also commended the people of Jammu for maintaining religious harmony despite provocations. Bhalla alleged that the policies of the Narendra Modi-led Government have “ruined” the country, especially Jammu and Kashmir.
Bhalla emphasized the need for timely payments to Anganwadi Workers and Helpers, as well as improved infrastructure for Anganwadi centers. He called for support to cover data expenses for mobile phones provided to workers.
The Congress leader launched a campaign to highlight issues such as farmer suicides, youth disillusionment, and the Government’s handling of various matters. He criticized the BJP Government’s policies on inflation, unemployment, women’s safety, handling of China, hate speeches, and alleged interference in institutions.
Mulla Ram criticized the BJP Government for failing to address the issues of refugees from Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) and accused them of dividing people for political gain.
Yogesh Sawhney and Hari Singh regretted the BJP’s neglect of people’s demands, emphasizing that the Congress would stand for truth and continue to fight for the people.
Manmohan Singh, Thakur Balbir Singh, and Kanta Bhan alleged that the BJP misuses institutions as weapons against political opponents and accused them of corruption at the heart of their politics. They noted the deplorable condition of youth in J&K and across India due to disappearing employment opportunities.
