JAMMU, July 28: Minister for Housing, Horticulture, Culture, Youth Services and Sports Raman Bhalla today said that Government has prepared a comprehensive plan for beautification of  various localities by developing recreational parks, adding that the places envisage with landscaping, illumination, construction of walkways, flower beds with irrigation facilities, drinking water reservoir, seating facilities, fountain and multiplay station ‘Jhullas’ so that the residents could enjoy their spare time in the healthy environs there.
The Minister said this while interacting with the locals after dedicating ‘multi-play station ‘Jhullas’ to children at Green Belt Park in Gandhi Nagar, here today.
For development of surrounding areas of ancient Ranbir Nath Ji temple near Jammu Airport, the Minister said the Government has released Rs. 89 lakh for construction of approach road, landscaping, toilet complex, illumination, seating, jogging track and car parking facilities for the visitors. He said the project is being prepared by Tourism Department under Border Area Tourism Development Programme, Suchetgarh and would be dedicated to the people of City of Temples soon.
Mr. Bhalla said, it is the duty of every citizen to cooperate with the Government in making the Jammu and Kashmir a model State, adding that several projects are in pipeline for the benefit of general masses across the State.
Reiterating Government’s determination to provide better basic amenities to the people in every nook and corner of the State, the Minister said that Government has taken several innovative measures to raise the living standard of the people including those residing in peripheries.
Later, Mr. Bhalla also visited Udham Singh Nagar and Sanjay Nagar and conducted public grievances redressal camp to assess development related problems of the people of both the localities.
The Minister gave patient hearing to them and assured them that their  genuine problems would be redressed on priority.
Mr. Bhalla said instructions have been issued to the allied departments to launch door-to-door visit for solving development related issues of the people on priority basis. He said Government is committed to provide every infrastructural facilitiy to the people at their door step.
The Minister asked the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) to complete all the works like up-gradation of lanes and drains etc. within stipulated time frame.
Mr. Bhalla also directed the PHE functionaries to lay water supply pipes in the water deficit areas of the Sanjay Nagar and Udham Nagar. He also directed them to complete the digging work well before the start of up-gradation work of lanes and drains, including internal link roads.
