JAMMU, Sept 23: Minister for Housing, Horticulture, Culture, Youth Services and Sports, Raman Bhalla, today flagged off 5-trucks carrying relief material to Kashmir valley.
The relief material has been provided by IFFCO Kissan Sabha Trust, New Delhi.
Mr. Bhalla expressed sympathies with the grieved families and issued directions to the officers to gear up their men and machinery in restoring public utilities in the flood affected areas of the State.  He said that massive relief operations have been launched besides priority is given to save precious lives and property of the victims of floods and landslides.
The Minister directed the Revenue Officers for accelerating the process of making reports of loss of lives and property. He appealed the people to come directly to the respective Patwaris of their areas to determine the authenticity of the case for making claims of loss of lives besides house and crop damages. He directed to provide medicines, tents, tarpals, ration and other required infrastructure where flood and landslide hit families of the State are accommodated.
Mr. Bhalla called upon the people to help the Government voluntarily in saving the lives and property of the flood affected families.
Regarding restoration of damage public infrastructure including road connectivity, drinking water supply, power, the Minister asked the concerned officers to ensure that all works are done on high priority so that damages are restricted to the minimum and people do not suffer due to non availability of required men and machinery.
